The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Shani Alhassan Shaibu, and the Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Ahmed Yakubu Mohammed, in the company of a mammoth crowd last week picked nomination forms for Madam Felicia Tettey to contest the Sagnarigu Constituency Parliamentary primaries of the NPP.

Felicia Tettey was the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, who won convincingly over the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 general elections.

In her bid to represent the NPP in the 2024 Parliamentary elections in the Sagnarigu Constituency, the Northern Regional Minister and the MCE visited the NPP constituency office to pick nomination forms on behalf of Madam Felicia Tettey.

Addressing the media after picking the forms, the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Shani Alhassan Shaibu, said although Madam Felicia Tettey was not around, he and the MCE for Sagnarigu were at the party’s office to represent her and pick the nomination form.

He therefore appealed to party sympathizers in the Sagnarigu Constituency to maintain the peace, unity, and calm currently being observed in the constituency. Since it is very significant to winning the seat for the party in the 2024 general elections.

Mr. Shani noted Madam Felicia Tettey’s performance in 2020 was creditable, saying that from winning no polling station, she won 44 polling stations in the constituency. He added that with some efforts and unity, the party should be able to win more polling stations to enable it to win the seat.

He thus implored all concerned to stay focused and put their acts together so that they could deliver the seat to the party.

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Hon. Mohammed Yakubu Ahmed, said the party is poised to succeed and thus sent a signal to the NDC that they are not coming out to joke but they mean business. He revealed they are poised to win 44 more polling stations than the party won in 2020.

Hon. Ahmed said the NPP knows all the loopholes and corners in Sagnarigu better than the NDC’s elected parliamentary candidate and that Madam Felicia Tettey is unique and appealing to all in the constituency.

The NPP Constituency Chairman for Sagnarigu, Alhaj Musah Fuseini Dangoman, thanked the Northern Regional Minister for taking time out of his busy schedule to pick up the forms on behalf of Felicia Tettey.

He noted it is the first time a Regional Minister is participating in the picking of nomination forms for a parliamentary hopeful.

Alhaji Musah Fuseini Dangoma assured the regional minister that Sagnarigu Constituency would be the first Constituency in the 2024 election to be declared for the NPP, and thus disclosed that it’s their intention to see Madam Felicia Tettey go unopposed in the NPP parliamentary primary in the constituency.
