President John Dramani Mahama will begin his nationwide “Thank You Tour” this Friday in the Volta Region, a gesture of gratitude to the people of Ghana for their overwhelming support in the 2024 elections.

The Presidency announced that the tour will allow President Mahama to personally express his appreciation for the trust reposed in him.

“This tour is an opportunity to thank Ghanaians for their incredible support and to reaffirm my commitment to fulfilling the mandate they have entrusted to me,” President Mahama stated through his acting spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The Volta Region event will feature a grand durbar of chiefs, queen mothers, religious leaders, labour union representatives, and members of the informal sector.

The gathering symbolises the enduring bond between the President and the citizens and celebrates the vital contributions of the people to national progress, the statement said.

“This swift action underscores the President’s dedication to effective governance and his determination to tackle the pressing issues facing Ghanaians,” added Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The Presidency further called on all Ghanaians to join this special occasion in unity and pride, marking the beginning of a tour that celebrates national solidarity and the shared vision of building a better Ghana.

Mr. Mahama secured a decisive victory in the 2024 elections, defeating former Vice President and NPP candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with approximately 56% of the vote to 41%.
