The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) will, starting Monday, November 27, 2023, organise “Agrifest Ghana 2023,” an exhibition fair aimed at promoting the agricultural products of local companies.

The 5-day event, which will be held within the Ministries enclave in Accra, will be a precursor to the 2023 National Farmers Day (NFD) celebration to be held in Tarkwa in the Western Region on December 1, 2023.

Specifically, the fair will be held at the Ridge Roundabout through the Principal Streets of Parliament House, Independence Square, and the John Evans Atta Mills Court Complex to the Principal Streets of Parliament House.

According to the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Yaw Frimpong Addo, the exhibition will feature agricultural companies and people whose work is related to agriculture.

Farmers from across the sixteen regions would be given the privilege to exhibit their produce.

Meanwhile, MOFA has announced that sections of the road around the Ministries area will be blocked during the next five days due to the exhibition.

“The Ministry of Food and Agriculture wishes to notify all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies and the public of a road closure starting from Starlet 91 Road to the National Theatre traffic light,” MOFA said in a statement on November 24, 2023.

“Official Pass will be granted to vehicles of Ministers, Head of Civil Service, Auditor-General, Controller and Accountant General, Deputy Ministers, Chief Directors, and Directors to access blocked areas to their respective offices,” the statement added.

The statement urged the public, civil servants, and their clientele to park their vehicles at Independence Square or Children’s Park and assured security for their vehicles by the police.
