MTN Ghana has increased the fee for mobile money withdrawal amounts of Gh¢ 2,000 and above from Gh¢ 10 to Gh¢ 20.

Previously, customers paid a 1% charge for all withdrawals capped at GH¢ 10.

But with the new arrangement, which is effective July 1, 2023, the 1% withdrawal charge will apply to withdrawal amounts less than GH¢ 2,000. However, amounts of Gh¢ 2000 and beyond will attract a fixed charge of Gh¢ 20.

The telecommunications company announced this in an SMS message to its customers on Friday.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) recently declared MTN a Significant Market Power (SMP), citing fair competition in the telecommunications industry, as reflected in lower pricing and enhanced services and quality.
