The Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana embarked on a peaceful demonstration to voice their frustrations over the government’s reluctance to permanently employ them.
Suale Mubarak, National Vice President of the Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association of Ghana, said they are fed up with sitting at home without posting and full-time employment from the government.
He revealed that about four batches are currently at home, waiting for government financial clearance to be employed.
Suale Mubarak further stated that they will continue with the demonstration until they are posted.
Alhassan Issahaku, Northern Regional Chief Coordinating Director, who received the petition on behalf of the regional minister, said he would deliver the petition to the appropriate body.
“I feel your pain and frustration of sitting at home, and I hope the government is a listening government and will hear your grievances,” Alhassan Issahaku promised the association.
