The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports suggesting that a government reshuffle has taken place, urging the public to disregard any such information circulating on various platforms.
The statement comes amid growing speculation on social media regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle, as some political actors have publicly urged President John Dramani Mahama to make changes to his ministerial team.
In a press statement issued on June 6, 2026, the party cautioned against the spread of misinformation, warning that some individuals were deliberately attempting to create confusion and “poison the atmosphere” with unverified claims.
The statement, signed by Deputy National Communication Officer Godwin Ako Gunn, stressed that no official announcement regarding any reshuffle had been made and advised the public to rely on recognized communication channels for accurate information.
“As we all strive to curb the menace of deliberate misinformation, some individuals will stop at nothing to poison the atmosphere,” the statement said.
The NDC further clarified that the official spokesperson for the administration remains Felix Kwakye Ofosu and encouraged citizens, media organizations, and other stakeholders to verify any information relating to a purported reshuffle through official sources before sharing it.
“The official spokesperson for this administration is Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu. Kindly verify any such information through his official channels before sharing it,” the statement added.
The party also drew attention to the legal implications of spreading false information, noting that Ghana’s Cyber Security Act could have serious consequences for individuals who disseminate unverified or misleading content online.
“The Cyber Security Act can have serious implications, so let us all be mindful and responsible in our communication,” the statement warned.
