NPP flagbearer contest: Bawumia is the most attacked – Gideon Boako

Spokesperson to the Vice President, Dr. Gideon Boako, says Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is focused on his campaign despite the numerous attacks on his candidature.

In an X post on Tuesday, Dr. Boako said that although the Vice President already stands the best chance of becoming the flagbearer of the NPP, he is not leaving anything to chance, shoving away distractive tendencies from his competitors.

“Vice President Bawumia is a good man. Yes, he is a good man. In the flagbearer election campaign, Dr. Bawumia is the most attacked, the most abused, the most vilified, the most disrespected, the most denigrated, and what and what, but he is still calm and very focused. He has not been responding to his attackers and has not shown any sign of the same,” part of Dr. Boako’s post read.

He also discredited a recent comment by a leading candidate for the November 4 elections, Kennedy Agyapong, that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as head of the Police Council, has information on the demise of the late Tiger Eye PI investigator, Ahmed Suale.

He argued that delegates of the party know what is best for them at any point in time; not witshanding, Dr. Boako furthered, his boss is still intensely campaigning and bent on winning.

“The reality is that NPP delegates know what time it is, and they choose their leaders, recognizing the dynamics of the times and seasons.”

“Dr. Bawumia is a serious campaigner. Despite the clear signs on the wall, he has been busily focusing on his campaign and criss-crossing the country, sometimes traversing multiple regions in a day”, he added.

Ever since Alan Kyerematen exited the flagbearership contest, Ken Agyapong has emerged as the obvious candidate to give Dr. Bawumia a run for his money, although most polls have predicted Dr. Bawumia as the candidate most likely to win the presidential ticket of the NPP.
