Students from InovTech STEM Center showcased cutting-edge robotics and AI projects at the official launch of Horlap Cafe & Restaurant, Ghana’s first robotic dining experience, held at Underbridge, East Legon.

Horlap Cafe & Restaurant officially opened its doors on Valentine’s Day, introducing AI-driven robotic servers and interactive touchscreen ordering systems to Ghana’s hospitality industry. The groundbreaking launch was not only a milestone in food and technology integration but also a celebration of Ghanaian youth innovation.

InovTech STEM Center students were invited as special exhibitors, demonstrating practical robotics, coding, and AI solutions to guests, partners, and industry leaders. Their presence reinforced a powerful message: Ghana’s future engineers and AI leaders are already building.

Founded and led by Jonathan Kennedy Sowah, InovTech STEM Center is a Ghana-based innovation hub equipping young people with hands-on skills in robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, circuitry, and 3D modeling. The Center has trained thousands of students and teachers across Ghana, with a strong focus on underserved communities.

At the launch, students presented self-built robotic prototypes, programmable systems, and AI-powered concepts aligned with real-world applications. For many guests, it was striking to see young learners confidently explain how robotic systems function — from sensor integration to automated movement logic.

The synergy between Horlap’s AI-powered restaurant model and InovTech’s student-built robotics highlighted a broader shift in Ghana’s innovation ecosystem: technology is no longer theoretical; it is visible, practical, and market-ready.

“This is what exposure does,” said one attendee. “You see children who are not just consuming technology but building it.”

The collaboration underscores the growing role of STEM education in shaping Ghana’s digital economy. As industries adopt automation and AI, institutions like InovTech STEM Center are ensuring young people are not left behind but positioned to lead.

The launch of Horlap Cafe & Restaurant signals a new chapter for Ghana’s hospitality sector. The exhibition by InovTech students signals something even bigger — a generation ready to engineer the future.
