The Vetting Committee for the New Patriotic Party’s presidential elections has cleared all 10 aspirants who appeared before it last week.

The committee, which sat between July 3 and July 7, 2023, was chaired by Rt. Hon. Rev. Prof. Mike Aaron Ocquaye.

In a statement on Wednesday, signed by the Party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the committee indicated that it has cleared all the flagbearer aspirants who filed their nomination forms last month, namely:

1. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen

2. Kwadwo Poku

3. Mahamudu Bawumia

4. Boakye Kyerematen Agyarko

5. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong

6. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong

7. Kofi Konadu Apraku

8. Owusu Akoto Afriyie

9. Joe Ghartey

10. Francis Addai-Nimoh

The clearance of the 10 candidates is, however, subject to the approval or otherwise of the National Council, according to the statement.

The statement revealed that the National Council is scheduled to meet on July 20, 2023, to deliberate on the recommendations of the Vetting Committee.

5 out of the expected 10 candidates will be shortlisted in a “Super Selegates Conference” on August 26, 2023, while the main elections to elect the flagbearer of the party will be held on November 4, 2023.

The candidates have been interacting with delegates across the country for the past few days.
