The People’s National Party (PNP) has announced a national fundraising campaign aimed at reviving its operational capacity and reinforcing its role as a viable alternative in Ghana’s political landscape.
A communiqué issued on Thursday following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on July 21 outlined several key resolutions, including a fundraising target of GHS 2 million. The funds, according to the party, will be used to pay outstanding rent on all 174 district and 16 regional offices and to strengthen the party’s logistical and outreach capabilities.
“These offices are not only essential for effective grassroots mobilisation but are also a legal requirement under the Electoral Commission’s guidelines,” the statement read.
The PNP plans to generate the funds through voluntary contributions, sponsorships, and organised fundraising events. A flagship event—a Grand Fundraising Dinner—is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Best Western Hotel in Accra.
In addition to settling rental arrears, the party intends to procure a reliable vehicle to facilitate national constituency visits and support other critical operational needs. The initiative, party leaders say, is part of a broader strategy to revitalise Ghana’s multiparty democracy.
“The PNP’s efforts aim to break the cycle of two-party domination by building a stronger, law-abiding, and people-centred alternative,” said Sulemana Seidu, the party’s General Secretary.
The party has appealed to supporters, sympathisers, and the general public to rally behind the campaign, which it described as a “noble cause” to restore credibility, hope, and meaningful democratic representation in the country.
