BEYOND THE RIPPLES
She looks at her reflection on the muddy water
She barely sees anything
She runs her fingers across her face and feels the scars upon her skin
She thinks to herself, ‘These scars could make people pity me’ or ‘These scars could make people admire me’
The thoughts of admiration grasp firmly on to her mind
She does not only want to be admired?
She wants to fly, soar and own the skies of success
She doesn’t want to look onto water to see her reflection
She wants to see herself glimmering on glass
It’s all in her mind but she will gently draw these thoughts out, mould and breathe life into them
