DON’T LAUGH AT ME

Don’t laugh at me for what you see today

Because you don’t know what tomorrow holds, okay?

My struggles, my burdens, my weight

May not be visible, but they’re still great

Don’t judge me by my exterior shell

For you don’t know the story I tell

Of trials and tribulations, of strife

Of battles fought, and a warrior’s life

I may walk bent, but I’m not broken

My spirit remains, though my body’s spoken

Of the pain and the struggles I face

But still, I rise, and I find my place

So don’t laugh, don’t mock, don’t scorn

For you don’t know what tomorrow morn

May bring to you, may bring to me

A reversal of fortunes, a change in destiny

Let’s walk with empathy, with compassion and grace

For we all carry burdens, we all wear a face

That hides our struggles, our fears, our doubts

But with kindness and love, we can turn it around

So don’t laugh at me, don’t laugh at you

For we’re all in this together, we’re all breaking through

The struggles, the pain, the weight we bear

But with love and support, we’ll rise above, we’ll share
