President Nana Akufo-Addo will today, August 22, 2022, begin a two-day working visit to the Upper West Region.

On this trip, he will visit traditional authorities, examine current projects, commission finished ones, and engage with the locals in the two regions.

The President will engage with citizens in the Wa Central Constituency first on Radio Upper West before making a courtesy call on the Wa Naa.

He will make a courtesy call on the Lambussie Kuoro and examine the “Agenda 111 Hospital Project” there, as well as the development of the second phase of the Youth Resource Center.

After cutting the sod for the dualization of Nandom Town Roads, he will head to the palace of the Nandom Naa, capping off the first day’s events.

The second day will start with a tour of the Wa Shopping Center’s ongoing construction, a courtesy call to the Issa Naa, and an inspection of the Agenda 111 Hospital Project in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency.

After paying a courtesy call to the Wechiau Naa, he will leave for Nadowli/Kaleo to commission the Kaleo Solar Power Project and inspect the Agenda 111 Project.

Due to a purported sidestepping by the regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, party executives’ followers in the region had earlier given notice that they would boycott the President’s visit.

However, on Friday they rescinded the decision after discussions with the minister. In a statement, it urged all parties to prepare to welcome His Excellency the President to the region.

From the Upper West Region, the President is expected to continue to the Savannah Region, where he will spend another two days.
