The Russian Embassy in Ghana has addressed media reports concerning the alleged involvement of a purported Russian national in sexual activities with Ghanaian women, which were reportedly recorded without their consent.
In a public statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the embassy said it had taken note of the reports circulating in Ghanaian media regarding the matter.
“The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Ghana has taken note of the reports in the Ghanaian media on the alleged involvement of a supposedly Russian citizen engaged in sexual activities with some Ghanaian women and recorded those acts without consent,” the statement read.
The rather brief notice did not provide further details about the identity of the individual or the specific allegations.
Whiles the government of Ghana through the Gender and Communications Ministry has commenced investigations into the matter, the situation continues to attract attention amid broader conversations about consent, digital privacy, and the protection of individuals’ rights.
