The Ghanaian representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Edmond Moukala N’Gouemo, will address participants at the Ghana Youth Tech Summit (GYTS) on development and opportunities for young people.
During a courtesy call by Nova Impact Africa, the organisers of GYTS, Mr Moukala described the potential of young African talent as important to the overall growth and well-being of the continent and the world at large.
The Executive Director of Nova Impact Africa, Celestina Aidoo, said the courtesy call on the UNESCO representative had provided an opportunity to share aligned visions while exploring collaborative opportunities for young people.
“Having Mr. Edmond Moukala and UNESCO engage with Nova Impact is very significant to us because UNESCO’s work around education, skills development, youth empowerment, digital information and inclusion aligns strongly with what we do here at Nova Impact.”
She added that the engagement reaffirmed the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, including governments, development organisations, private sector players, academia, civil society and young people, in achieving a shared vision for the future.
She expressed hope that the collaboration would bring together different players within the ecosystem to share ideas and explore practical ways to support the next generation.
The Lead for Sponsorship and Partnerships, Obed Yaoseh, said UNESCO’s mandate to contribute to peacebuilding, education and media literacy, particularly in rural communities, was central to this year’s collaboration.
“We thought it wise to come together as one and use same platforms that we both create for peer learning, but also to network and learn amongst each other and also for the organizations there might be some of things that we can co-create or co-learn from each other to also implement to promote the experience that we are creating for people that we want to impact.”
Mr Moukala will join other speakers from across the ecosystem at the 2026 edition of the summit to advance discussions aimed at bridging the gap between talent and opportunity.
The event will also connect young people with skills development opportunities, industry networks, partnerships, mentorship and innovation pathways to prepare them for the future workforce and emerging industries.
