Policy think tank YAFO Institute has been nominated to participate in the Think Tank Shark Tank Competition at the Africa Liberty Forum in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, by Atlas Network, USA.

The highly sought-after competition, which will take place at the 2024 Africa Liberty Forum in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on July 11–12, will be hosted by Atlas Network, USA, with Liberty Sparks, Tanzania, as a co-host.

It allows three contestants who are selected from several thought leaders, researchers, policy experts, and think tank executives in Africa to, within 5 minutes, pitch their organisation’s mission and goals to a panel of freedom advocates, influencers, and judges.

In a press statement on July 10, the Institute viewed the nomination as a testament to its commitment to excellence and its relentless pursuit to advance liberty, free enterprise, and prosperity in Ghana.

“The YAFO Institute is humbled to be nominated to participate in the 2024 Think Tank Shark Tank Competition with the project “Decentralised Business Empowerment.”

“Our participation in the competition aligns with our mission to advance civil liberty through free enterprise research and innovative public policy advocacy for a prosperous society in Ghana,” the statement said.

On his part, President of the YAFO Institute, Nathaniel Kwadwo Dwamena, said, “We are humbled to be recognised for our work and to have the opportunity to share our idea on such a prestigious stage.”

“This nomination underscores the commitment and hard work of our daring team, which is at the frontline of the fight for freedom and undertaking policy actions for change,” he added, while expressing YAFO’s eagerness to showcase its innovative strategies for addressing the significant challenges that face Ghana’s freedom and prosperity.

The Institute welcomed the public, partners, media, and supporters to follow them throughout the competition.
