President John Dramani Mahama has announced further changes to his government, with Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo and Ernest Brogya Genfi receiving new assignments with immediate effect.
Under the changes announced by the Presidency on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Pelpuo has been reassigned from his position as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation to serve as Minister of State for Special Initiatives.
Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum will replace Pelpuo as Minister for Labour, Employment and Job Creation.
The President has also reassigned Brogya Genfi, who has been serving as Deputy Minister for Defence, to a new role as Presidential Advisor on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness.
The Presidency said the changes take immediate effect.
The latest reshuffle forms part of President Mahama’s ongoing adjustments to his administration as the government seeks to align ministerial responsibilities with its priorities and strengthen delivery across key sectors.
