BeTechConnected, a tech-driven social enterprise, has officially launched its flagship podcast, the ‘Future of Work Africa Podcast’, aimed at deepening conversations around the evolving world of work and preparing young Africans for global opportunities.

The launch event, held at Lamu Restaurant, builds on discussions from the organization’s ongoing Future of Work (FoW) events, which focus on equipping young people with the relevant skills, knowledge, and networks needed to thrive in a rapidly changing job market.

The podcast will be hosted by Akosua Osei, Founder of BeTechConnected and curator of the Future of Work events, alongside Kwame Nyatuame, President of the Ghana EdTech Alliance.

Speaking at the launch, Akosua Osei explained the vision behind the initiative:

“The Future of Work Africa Podcast is to unpack conversations about the gig economy, technology, and policies shaping the future of work across the continent,” she said.

The launch also featured the podcast’s first live session, with Dr. Nefertiti Puplampu, a learning scientist and education specialist, who emphasized the critical role educators play in preparing students for the modern workplace.

“Most of the time, when I talk about the future of work, I’m speaking to educators and teachers, encouraging them to rethink how they prepare students for today’s workplace realities,” she noted.

Dr. Puplampu highlighted the growing importance of twenty-first-century skills, stressing that employers increasingly value competencies such as critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving.

“Students need to be able to critically analyze information, quickly process new knowledge, and apply what they learn in practical, work-related contexts,” she added.

The podcast forms part of BeTechConnected’s broader mission to bridge the skills gap among African youth and position them for opportunities within the global digital economy.

The organization continues to address challenges facing young people, including limited access to opportunities and a mismatch between acquired skills and industry demands, by creating platforms that foster learning, innovation, and connection.
