Award-winning gospel artist Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, commonly known as KODA, has died.
Koda, 45, died in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024, according to family sources.
The talented musician and song writer is famed for releasing multi-genre gospel songs and has, to his credit, hits such as Nkwa Abodoo, Guide Me Thou Jehovah, Yesu Adi Nkunim, Nsem Pii, and Hossana.
He has also featured on the records of other artists, including Joe Mettle, Nacee, Nii Okai, Joyful Way Incorporated, Calvis Hammond, and Francis Osei, among others.
The Takoradi-based minister has reportedly been battling an undisclosed illness for the past few months.
KODA also founded KODED Studios, a music production company that has churned out many gospel tracks by both experienced and amateur artists.
He is an alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he started off his music career and later led the mass choir of the university as music director.
He has been praised for his musical dexterity, strong Christian beliefs, and affability.
He was married to Ewurama, also a music minister, and they were blessed with three kids.
Meanwhile, tributes have started pouring in for the late musician, especially from followers of gospel music.
