The Chief Executive of L’AINE HR and Co-Founder of Legacy Girls’ College, Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan, has urged women to be courageous, purposeful, and resilient as they navigate leadership in the workplace.
She noted that while the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill into law opens opportunities for more women in leadership, it will take courage, purpose, clarity in communication, collaboration, resilience, and lifelong learning for women to fully take advantage of these opportunities.
“Collaboration is a multiplier,” she stressed.
Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan made the call in her address as keynote speaker at the ongoing Strategic Women in Leadership Masterclass at the Best Western Premier Airport Hotel in Accra.
Organised by L’AINE Academy, the learning and development arm of L’AINE HR, the masterclass provides exclusive mentorship, leadership, and mindset-shift training for women leaders across different industries and sectors.
Scheduled for June 3 and 4, 2026, the masterclass will engage participants in thought-provoking conversations, practical leadership discussions, self-reflection, and networking designed to strengthen their leadership capabilities and prepare them for greater responsibility and impact.
Some of the speakers lined up for the event include Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan, Chief Executive, L’AINE HR; Mr. James Laar, Managing Director, L’AINE HR; Freda Sangfroid, Principal Consultant, Business Transformation and Talent Strategy; and Rev. Dr. Nana Yaa Tina Owusu-Prempeh, Chairman and CEO, Tin-Effah Group.
Other speakers include Helen Amerley Amarquaye, Independent Non-Executive Director, Old Mutual Insurance Ghana and African Risk Capacity Limited; Adelaide Abbie-Williams, C-Suite Business Leader and Transformation Strategist; and Prince Kludjeson, Management Consultant and Entrepreneur.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Mrs Ellen Hagan challenged women not only to take up leadership opportunities but, more importantly, to make the necessary sacrifices and build the requisite competencies that will make them both successful and impactful.
She further remarked: “Leadership is a marathon, not a sprint. Leaders who take care of themselves lead better and live longer,” urging women to balance their work with health and well-being.
In closing, she remarked that the crisis in the workplace today requires women who will not do the same things in the same way.
