The YAFO Institute will host the Liberty Sphere 2026 from September 23 to 25 at the Anagkazo Campus, Mampong-Aburi, bringing together young professionals, students, journalists, entrepreneurs, civil society activists and policy advocates to discuss individual liberty, free enterprise and public policy.
The three-day programme will begin with the Liberty Sphere Policy Grounds Training from September 23 to 24, before culminating in the Liberty Sphere Conference on September 25.
The training is designed to equip selected young participants with knowledge and practical skills to engage in public policy discussions. Sessions will cover free-market economics, property rights, entrepreneurship, public policy, welfarism, policy research and fundraising.
Speakers include Prof. Enoch Opoku Antwi, Prof. Ken Schoolland, Dr Albert Kobina Mensah and Dr Eamonn Butler, among others.
A key feature will be the Battlegrounds Policy Pitch, where participants will present practical solutions to contemporary policy challenges, with the winner eligible to receive up to GH¢6,000 at the Liberty Sphere Dinner and Awards.
The conference will be held under the theme, “The Future of Freedom in Ghana,” and will focus on start-up finance and Ghana’s digital economy; women’s leadership, cybersecurity and digital governance; and entrepreneurship, trade and innovation under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The institute will also commemorate the 250th anniversary of Adam Smith’s The Wealth of Nations under the theme, “The Wealth of Nations at 250: Freedom, Enterprise and the Future of Prosperity.”
The YAFO Institute said the event will provide a platform to “exchange ideas, build networks and examine how innovation, entrepreneurship and sound public policy can contribute to greater economic opportunity.”
