The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that Cabinet has approved an extension of the financial clearance for its 2024 recruitment batch to ensure that all affected staff are placed on the government payroll and paid their arrears by the end of November 2025.

In a circular dated October 20, 2025, and signed by the Acting Director-General of GES, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, all Regional Directors have been directed to urgently compile and submit the necessary documents for affected staff to the Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) Secretariat at the GES Headquarters by Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

“The Management of Ghana Education Service is pleased to inform you that Cabinet has granted approval for the extension of financial clearance originally issued in 2024.”

“This extension is intended to ensure that all unpaid recruited staff in 2024 are duly mechanised and paid by the end of November 2025,” the statement said.

The directive applies to validated staff who have staff IDs but are yet to be paid, as well as those without staff IDs, including graduates from colleges of education and other universities and non-teaching staff whose details are yet to be processed.

Prof. Davis emphasized the urgency of the exercise, urging all regional offices to comply fully with the submission deadline.

“This directive must be treated as urgent and strictly complied with,” he stated, adding that management was counting on the “usual cooperation” of regional directors to ensure a smooth and timely completion of the process.
