The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has appointed Mr. Herbert Krapa as Ghana’s new Minister for Energy, effective Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
This appointment follows Mr. Krapa’s tenure as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy, a role he assumed on July 15, 2024. During this period, he was commended for his exceptional diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to advancing Ghana’s energy sector.
In a statement released by the Office of the President, President Akufo-Addo praised Mr. Krapa for his contributions, noting that his leadership has been instrumental in fostering progress and stability within the sector.
“Mr. Krapa has demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to his duties, contributing significantly to the progress and stability of Ghana’s energy sector,” the President stated.
The President expressed confidence in Mr. Krapa’s ability to excel in his new role, emphasising his potential to drive the growth and transformation of the energy sector. “I am confident that Mr. Krapa will continue to distinguish himself in his new role, ensuring the continued growth and transformation of the energy sector in service to the nation,” the President added.
The appointment was announced by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Office of the President.
