The management of Ho Technical University (HTU) says that it has not received any official report from health authorities about the outbreak of HIV/AIDS on its campus.

The HTU described the allegations as entirely baseless and false.

A video went viral across social media of a lady who claimed to have the disease and had infected male students at the university.

In the video, which was also published by some news portals, the lady further claimed those she had infected with the disease had also passed it onto their respective partners.

However, in a statement on June 5, signed by the Registrar, Dr. C. K. Amehoe, the university dispelled the claims.

“The University Health Service as well as the Municipal and Regional Health Directorates of the Ghana Health Service have not published such information,” the statement said.

While advising the public to desist from sharing such a false publication, the university warned that it would not hesitate to take legal action against anyone found sharing the said publication.
