The Ghana Chapter of the International Facility Management Association has launched this year’s edition of the World Facility Management Day celebration, themed “Inspire, Integrate, Innovate: Ignite Your Career in FM.”
The 2024 World Facility Management Day has been designated for May 8 worldwide, but members are encouraged to celebrate it all month long in recognition of the important role facility management plays in everyday life.
Speaking at the launch on Monday, April 29, 2024, President of IFMA Ghana, Sampson Opare-Agyeman, said this year’s theme aims at inspiring facility managers to embrace innovative practices, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and adopt sustainable methodologies, thereby fostering a new generation of managers who will shape the industry’s future.
“Our primary objective is to cultivate a renewed sense of inspiration among facility managers, encouraging them to wholeheartedly adopt cutting-edge technologies, sustainable methodologies, and collaborative strategies. It is through this inspiration that we seek to propel a new generation of facility managers towards embracing innovative practices that will undoubtedly shape the future landscape of our industry.”
“We are confident in our ability to steer the course towards a future marked by progress, sustainability, and excellence in facility management practices,” he said.
On integration, Mr. Opare-Agyemang emphasised the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange among diverse industry stakeholders.
IFMA Ghana pledged to further strengthen the bonds between stakeholders within the facility management community by creating a supportive ecosystem for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and resources and leveraging stakeholders’ collective expertise for innovation and success in facility management.
On innovation, the IFMA Ghana President observed that innovation is the propelling force in their industry, steering progress and evolution. On behalf of the association, he expressed his commitment to “persistently embrace emerging technologies, leverage inventive strategies, and encourage a culture of experimentation.”
According to him, this will position facility managers to handle the complexities of the industry and turn obstacles into opportunities for growth and advancement.
Mr. Opare-Agyeman stressed that IFMA Ghana is committed to the professional growth of its facility managers at all levels by providing them with networking, mentorship, and training opportunities.
“Let us come together to inspire, integrate, innovate, and ignite our passion for facility management. Let us celebrate World Facility Management Day with enthusiasm and dedication, and let us shape a brighter future for our profession and our nation,” he concluded.
