A young man who is believed to be in his early 20s is alleged to have killed three women at Tampaala in the Jirapa Municipality. It is reported that he committed the murder using a pounding pestle.

All three victims are also said to be the suspect’s own relatives.

According to sources, the incident happened yesterday, August 28th, 2022, at about 7:00pm.

According to sources, the bodies were conveyed to Jirapa for medical examination and confirmation, after which they were released to the bereaved families for mourning and burial.

Police sources have confirmed the sad incident, noting that the suspect is currently in police custody.

According to reports, an 8-month-old baby who was on the back of one of the victims sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the St. Joseph Hospital, Jirapa.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Yaw Dabuo, who is the son of the one Tampaala Tendaana (a landlord), has been rumored to be mentally challenged. He is reported to have returned home from a job site in the southern part of the country with the condition.

The Police Service says it is yet to gather any credible information on what might have triggered the dastardly act.
