President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has signalled his commitment to tackling corruption by forming a team to lead his anti-corruption agenda.
Dubbed Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), the initiative aims to recover proceeds of corruption and hold offenders accountable.
The five-member team, announced in a press statement from the President-Elect’s Transition Team, includes Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa as Chairman, former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
“This team will receive and gather information from members of the public and other sources on suspected acts of corruption,” said Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team.
Anti-corruption was a cornerstone of Mahama’s 2024 campaign, with ORAL positioned as a flagship policy. The President-Elect has vowed to “hit the ground running” in fulfilling his pledge to hold corrupt actors accountable and recover looted state resources.
The preparatory team is expected to start receiving information immediately as the president-elect readies for his January 7 inauguration.
