Northern Regional Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Alhaji Gbewah, has been granted bail after he was arrested and detained at the police custody on Monday.

He was invited by the police to assist with the investigation into the alleged attack on the Northern Regional Treasurer, Hajia Shamima Yakubu.

The Tamale Circuit Court granted Alhaji Gbewa bail of GHC 50,000 with two sureties.

Addressing members and sympathisers of the party, Alhaji Gbewa said he is grateful for the support of all who have been with him since Monday to see his bailout.

He added that all they need is unity and focus on how to win the 2024 general elections for the NDC and all parliamentary seats in the region.

“I am pleading with all party faithfuls to remain calm, and as the road to victory is always hard, continue to preach and canvass more votes for the National Democratic Congress,” he reiterated.

Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, Baba Zed, cautioned members to desist from spreading the alleged posters of the Northern Regional Treasurer, Hajia Shamima Yakubu.
