Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced the commencement of the Seventh Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana.

The session is set to begin on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with the venue to be announced by the Speaker in due course.

This is one clear week after the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The notice, dated December 2, 2024, and issued from the Office of the Speaker in Accra, adheres to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament.

The announcement follows heightened tensions between the NPP and NDC caucuses regarding the majority status in the House.
