The Ghana Police Service says investigations into the death of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere have established that he was allegedly lured to a residence at Teshie Agbleza before he was attacked and later died.
Nana Yaw Kyere was reported missing on September 22, 2026, after leaving his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra three days earlier in his Honda Civic vehicle.
According to the Police, investigations by the Missing Persons Unit established that Sarah Osei Adams allegedly lured the victim to the residence of Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe at Teshie Agbleza.
The Police said the two suspects subsequently confessed to their involvement in the incident.
“Both suspects later confessed to their involvement and indicated that suspect Philip Tefe attacked the victim during a confrontation and hit him with a metallic object, causing him to sustain injuries,” the Police said in a statement issued on September 28.
The victim was allegedly moved to another room after the attack and left unattended. He later died, according to the Police.
Investigators said the body was subsequently transported in a Kia Morning vehicle on September 20 to a location near the motorway, where it was allegedly dumped in a bush and set ablaze.
“The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on 21st September 2026,” the Police stated.
Nana Yaw Kyere’s biological mother and an uncle later identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
The Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the case — Philip Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.
Josiah Obodai is being investigated over the alleged disposal of the body, while the Kia Morning vehicle belonging to his father has been impounded as part of the investigation.
The Police also retrieved the victim’s iPhone 12, which Philip Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100. The buyer, Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained for allegedly dishonestly receiving the phone.
“The three suspects are currently in Police custody and will be put before the court as investigations continue to identify and arrest other persons who may have been involved in the case,” the Police said.
