Organised Labour has announced a suspension of their strike on Monday, July 15, 2024.
The strike was declared on July 12 over the decision of SSNIT to divest 60% shares in four hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Food and Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.
However, after an emergency meeting on Monday, the leadership of organised labour stated that it is discontinuing the strike. Workers are expected to resume work on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, accordingly.
Organised Labour, however, stated it has given SSNIT a one-month ultimatum to meet with them to resolve all the issues relating to the management of their pensions.
“We are giving SSNIT one month to engage Organised Labour to address all outstanding issues related to the management of our pensions, otherwise we advise ourselves.”
