Three female students and a lecturer from the University of Education, Winneba, have reportedly lost their lives in a tragic motor accident last Friday.
The unfortunate event happened in the Eastern Regional town of Apirede, after which the vehicle in which they were travelling failed to brake on descending the Apirede mountain, resulting in their unexpected departure.
The police, who have learnt of this tragic accident, are currently assessing the situation to arrive at the exact cause of the event, even though some eyewitnesses claimed it was as a result of overspeeding.
According to sources, the lecturer and the students were travelling together on an excursion when the tragic incident happened.
Other team members of the excursion who were injured are currently receiving treatment at the Yilo-Krobo District Hospital and Trauma & Specialist Hospital in Winneba.
