Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang returned to Ghana this afternoon following a period of medical treatment in London, United Kingdom.
The Vice President was received at the Kotoka International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Mrs. Lordina Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and Mr. Alex Segbefia, Chief of Staff to the Vice President.
A number of senior government officials were also present to welcome her.
Joining them at the airport were the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church and members of the Vice President’s family, underscoring the personal and national significance of her return.
In a brief address upon arrival, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang expressed her gratitude to the Ghanaian public for their prayers and well wishes during her time abroad. She extended appreciation to her medical team in London, as well as healthcare personnel at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), for what she described as their dedicated and professional care.
She also acknowledged the support of President Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, highlighting what she called their “thoughtfulness and care” throughout her recovery.
