Former Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 general elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended a warm welcome to Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang following her recent return to Ghana after medical treatment.

In a brief message shared publicly, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude for her recovery, stating, “A warm welcome back home to Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang. Samira Bawumia and I thank God for your speedy recovery and wish you all the best as you resume work.”

Professor Opoku-Agyemang arrived on Thursday afternoon at the Kotoka International Airport, where she was received by President John Dramani Mahama, alongside other senior government officials and statesmen.

The first female Vice President was reported ill about a month ago and was initially admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre. She was subsequently flown abroad for further treatment.

Following her departure, the Presidency announced a three-week medical leave for her. Since then, government officials have provided assurances regarding her recovery.
