We’re investigating release of Amihere’s video – EIB

Excellence in Broadcasting, operators of GhOne TV, say they are investigating the circumstances that led to the release of an intimate video involving one of their staff, Serwaa Amihere.

In a statement on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the management of the Accra-based media house asserted that although they have become aware of the issue, they have been unwilling to comment on it due to criminal charges filed by the State against the alleged culprits.

“We are also aware that criminal proceedings have been instituted by the State against certain persons who are alleged to have published the said video. This has delayed our public comment on this issue,” the statement noted.

EIB noted further that it has begun an in-house independent inquiry into the matter, following which it would take the necessary action.

“Management has also decided to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the release of the said video.

“The company will accordingly publish the findings of the independent investigation as soon as they are communicated, and further actions will be taken thereafter.”

Over the past few days, social media has been abuzz with discussions about the viral video of the popular female journalist being intimate with Fritz, a Koforidua-based businessman.

Public debates on the intimacy between the adults raise integrity and morality concerns, questioning Serwaa’s decision to date someone whose wife engaged her as MC during her wedding.

Some have also urged Serwaa’s employers and companies, with whom Serwaa holds brand deals, to take action against her in order to protect their reputation.

On Monday, Serwaa filed a complaint against Henry, resulting in the filing of charges against Henry and two others by the state.

The summons, among other things, suggested blackmail by Henry and his associates, given Serwaa’s efforts to stop the dissemination of the said video.
