Accra is set to host a major cultural and tourism milestone as Hotels and Deals International partners the Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming Festival, positioning the December 2026 event as a premium diaspora experience rooted in collaboration, commerce and cultural reconnection.
Speaking at the official signing ceremony on 6th April 2026 at the African Regent Hotel, Chief Executive Officer of Hotels and Deals International, Priscilla Opoku, underscored the company’s central role in shaping the festival’s global outlook.
She emphasized that the initiative goes beyond tourism, reflecting a broader vision of structured, high-quality international experiences.
“What began as a personal passion for travel has evolved into a platform for delivering structured, high-quality global experiences. This festival aligns directly with our vision of positioning Ghana as a destination for premium, diaspora-led engagement,” she stated.
She highlighted the strength of partnerships driving the project, assuring stakeholders of seamless execution.
“It’s not a stand-alone; we work as a team. We’re a family as well, so thank you so much for trusting us… It’s bigger than just a festival,” she added, while commending collaborators and young creatives contributing to the vision.
For Hotels and Deals, the festival also represents a strategic opportunity to redefine travel narratives about Africa, while facilitating hospitality, logistics and curated experiences for international visitors expected to attend in large numbers.
International reggae star Gramps Morgan, a key driver of the initiative, framed the festival as a long-awaited mission rooted in identity and economic empowerment.
“It’s no coincidence that it took 11 years to gather the right team. This is not just about a festival; it’s a way to build commerce,” he noted.
The 3-time Grammy Award winner stressed the need to reshape global perceptions of Africa and deepen diaspora ties, adding, “We want to change the narrative… and let people know that coming to Africa is as normal as anywhere else.”
Founder and CEO of Six Degrees Africa, Ishmael Hanson, whose outfit serves as implementation partner, described the festival as a product of strategic connectivity and experiential expertise.
He explained that the agency leverages its network to simplify execution for large-scale events.
“We are the marketing agency that, for whatever project you want to do, we are who you need to know to get to what you want to see,” he said, adding that Six Degrees has delivered major events and brand activations across Africa.
The Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming Festival is expected to anchor December festivities, blending music, business and cultural exchange into a transformative global event.
