Management of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) says it has sorted out initial disagreements with Tiger Eye PI over the provision of their facility for the latter’s Galamsey premiere event.
The private investigative outfit on Sunday released a statement saying that they have been prevented from using the venue on November 14 and 15 for the “Galamsey Economy” viewing despite a contract to that effect.
According to Tiger Eye, they had already fulfilled their part of the bargain, including paying an extra 30% of the venue fee.
“Tiger Eye is saddened that with barely 48 hours until the public screenings, when invitations have been sent out to the diplomatic community and other high-profile members of society and flyers have been sent out to the public, we have had to look for a new venue,” the release said.
But reacting to the statement, the management of the AICC has said that the confusion on the venue allocation emanated from an “operative” but has since been ironed out with the organizers.
The AICC also dismissed reports of political undertones stemming from their earlier disagreement with the organisers.
“The initial confusion was due to a scheduling conflict at the level of the AICC staff and was not, as has been speculated, a political decision,” the statement said.
The AICC had contacted Tiger Eye PI and confirmed that the event would go ahead as planned.
