At least two influential on-air personalities of Adabraka-based Citi FM/Citi TV have quit the station, The Sikaman Times can confirm.

In June 2022, multi-skilled personality and discussant on the Citi Break Fast Show, Kojo Akoto Boateng, exited the station after about 9 years. Kojo, the station’s former Head of New Media and Head of Research, left for an unrelated opportunity in agribusiness and entrepreneurship.

In a tweet on August 1, he said:

For 16/17 years, I have had the opportunity to work in one of the most exciting industries – broadcasting.

The journey continues on a new path now. A path that will see me doing even more, without the microphone or the camera.

The morning show team now consists of Nathan Quao, Godfred Akoto Boafo, Kokui Selormey Hanson, and Bernard Avle, who is presently bereaved.

Another person whose resignation has got a lot of followers talking is their former Sports Editor, Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo. No sooner had Fentuo announced his departure on social media than the station’s major competitor, Multimedia Group, announced on their website that he was joining them. Fentuo was very influential in getting listeners and fans hooked up to the station.

Fentuo hinted at his departure on Sunday as follows:

—PERSONAL NEWS—

I’ll like to say thank you to

@Citi973/@CitiTVGH for an amazing last 5 years.

It’s been a wonderful place to learn and grow and I’m grateful for all the opportunities the platform afforded me.

It’s been an honor and a privilege. Thank you so so much 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Although it is unclear the reasons for the exit of these two important presenters, their departures come at a time when other popular broadcasters, including Jessica Opare Saforo, have left the purple and violet brand after serving it for almost two decades.
