The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that the results of the 2024 general elections will be declared today, December 9, at 4:30 PM.

The announcement will be broadcast live, and the public is encouraged to tune in to follow the proceedings.

During a press briefing in Accra on Monday, December 9, Deputy EC Commissioner of Operations, Samuel Tettey, called on political party supporters to refrain from gathering at the National Collation Centre. He emphasised that such gatherings are both unnecessary and illegal, urging all parties and their supporters to remain calm and patient as the final results are being processed.

“There is no need for political party supporters to gather at the National Collation Centre. This is illegal and unwarranted,” Mr. Tettey stated. “The National Collation Centre is for accredited individuals only. Everyone else can watch the live broadcast of the results declaration from the comfort of their homes at 4:30 PM.”

It is unclear whether the Commission has collated results from all 16 regions. Earlier on Monday, it announced that it had collated results from 12 out of the 16 regions.

In the press briefing announcing the time for the  declaration of the results, Mr. Tettey stated, “We have results from 13 regions being processed at the National Collation Centre, and we ask for the general public’s cooperation.”
