The Paramount Chief of Prampram and also President of Prampram Traditional Council, Nene Tetteh Wakar III, has led a healthwalk to foster unity and promote physical activity to improve their health and reduce the risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) as part of the Homowo Celebration.
About 1,000 people, including traditional leaders from the Prampram traditional area, participated in the healthwalk, which started from Dawhenya through to the principal streets of Prampram Township.
In addressing the gathering, Nene Tetteh Wakar IIl urged all workers to practise living healthy lifestyles towards increasing productivity and also preventing diseases and premature deaths.
He stressed that diseases pose a significant threat to the health of people all over the world, advising the gathering to commit to physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits.
According to Nene Tetteh Wakar, those who are active and fit are healthier, explaining further that exercise lowers their risk factor for diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, and others.
He commended all for partaking in the health walk and asked them to avail themselves of similar programmes in the future.
