Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has reportedly been shot by unidentified gunmen under circumstances that remain unclear.
Initial reports indicate that the incident occurred on Sunday and is alleged to be connected to an estate dispute following the death of her father, Emeritus Professor Kwadwo Safo, founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission.
Sources familiar with the matter claim the assailants opened fire on the former lawmaker, although details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting have yet to be independently verified.
A vehicle believed to belong to Adwoa Safo has since been seen parked at the Atomic Police Station, while she is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Neither the Ghana Police Service nor representatives of the former Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister have officially commented on the incident.
It remains unclear whether any arrests have been made or the extent of injuries she may have sustained.
The reported attack comes in the wake of the passing of Emeritus Prof. Kwadwo Safo, renowned inventor and founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, whose death has reportedly sparked discussions surrounding the administration of his estate.
