The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) Secretariat has announced the immediate termination of contracts for all caterers operating under the programme across the country.

In a letter dated May 2, 2025, and addressed to all caterers, the Secretariat instructed that no existing caterer should provide meals for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year. The directive forms part of a broader restructuring effort by the GSFP.

The letter, signed by the National Coordinator, Ms. Hawa Fati Forgor, assured caterers that all outstanding arrears for the second term will be paid in due course.

The Secretariat also indicated that new recruitment modalities for caterers will be announced soon as part of the ongoing restructuring process.

The GSFP, established under the Ghana-UN Millennium Development Goals initiative, aims to address hunger and extreme poverty through school feeding.

The communication was copied to the Minister and Chief Director of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP), regional GSFP coordinators, and the Controller and Accountant-General.

“Accordingly, no existing caterer on the Programme should cook for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.”

“All outstanding arrears for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic year will be paid in due course.”

“The GSFP Secretariat, as part of its ongoing restructuring exercise, will soon announce the modalities for the recruitment of new caterers for the Programme,” the letter stated.
