Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson says he will outline the government’s plans to translate Ghana’s economic recovery into jobs, improved incomes and business growth when he presents the 2027 Budget next week.
In a message ahead of the presentation, Dr Forson said the sacrifices made by Ghanaians to restore the economy must now translate into tangible improvements in their living conditions.
“Ghanaians made sacrifices to get the economy back on its feet,” he said.
“Now, that recovery must mean decent jobs for young people, better incomes for farmers and room for Ghanaian businesses to grow and hire.”
The Finance Minister said the upcoming budget would explain how the government intends to build on the economic gains and ensure that the recovery delivers broader prosperity.
He added that the 2027 Budget would outline the government’s vision for a “New Economy”, with emphasis on creating opportunities for young people, strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting the expansion of Ghanaian businesses.
“Next week, I will show you how to move the economy forward,” Dr Forson said, revealing the government’s intention to make job creation and improved economic opportunities central to its next fiscal policy direction.
The 2027 is expected to be delivered on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, 12th November.
