The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has cautioned the public against investing with 22 entities operating on social media and online, stating that none of them is licensed to offer capital market or investment services in Ghana.
In a public notice dated July 22, 2026, the regulator said the entities are promoting and offering unlicensed investment products in violation of the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929), as amended by the Securities Industry (Amendment) Act, 2021 (Act 1062).
According to the SEC, the affected entities are: Afri Hub, BG Wealth, BP Investment, Creative Walker Promotion Company (CWPC), Dallmayr, Expert (Expect) Option, GAIP Securities Learning & Exchange Group, Ghana Vest, Harvest Fund, Infarms/Secure Farm, Kukafor Platform, Mazzuma, Medisyne Trade, NIO Platform, Profit Rise Invest, Quant Vest Stock Exchange (QVSE), QVES, QX Broker/Qumatix, Smart Gain, Yepbit Trading, ZEC ZEC FX, Bonchat, and Ultima Cryptocurrency Group.
The Commission stressed that it has not licensed any of the listed entities to undertake capital market activities as required under Ghana’s securities laws.
“The SEC is currently collaborating with Law Enforcement Agencies to clamp down on the people behind these entities and schemes,” the notice stated.
The regulator urged the public to exercise caution and refrain from investing in any products or schemes promoted by the listed firms, warning that dealing with unlicensed operators exposes investors to significant financial risks.
The SEC explained that, as part of its statutory mandate, it conducts surveillance of activities within the securities industry and regularly publishes information aimed at protecting investors and preserving the integrity of Ghana’s capital market.
The Commission further advised prospective investors to verify the licensing status of any individual or company offering investment products or capital market services before committing funds.
Members of the public may confirm whether an investment firm is licensed by contacting the SEC through its toll-free line 0800 100 065, main lines 0302 768 970-2, or by emailing info@sec.gov.gh.
