Head of News at Citi FM and Channel One TV, Vivian Kai Lokko, has abruptly resigned after 17 years with the stations.

Her resignation, effective immediately, was announced in a terse letter addressed to the media house’s HR Manager, which has since gone viral on social media.

The letter stated, “I wish to formally resign from my position as Head of News at Channel One TV and Citi FM, effective 2 October 2025,” but did not provide any reasons for her departure.

Many have linked the resignation to a possible fallout between Vivian and her employers, fuelled by an alleged initial social media post from the news chief that The Sikaman Times cannot independently verify.

In that statement, she said, “After 17 years with Citi FM and Channel One TV, this morning at 8 am, I submitted my resignation letter and exited all platforms of the company at 8:03 am. Any narrative you hear is a lie, and the truth will come out in due course. A beautiful new journey has begun for me.”

Vivian Kai Lokko is a graduate of the University of Ghana, holding a degree in Political Science and Theatre Arts, as well as an MSc in International Business from the University of Ghana Business School. She has also received additional training in Finance, Economics, and Business Journalism from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in South Africa.

Beyond her leadership as Head of News, she was a news anchor and hosted several programmes, including “What The Papers Are Saying”.

Vivian joined Adabraka-based Citi FM from Kencity Media in 2008.
