Let’s remain united for victory: Akosua Manu tells Adentan NPP as party outdoors campaign team

The NPP parliamentary candidate for Adentan in the Greater Accra Region, Akosua Asaa Manu, says that the party can only wrestle power from the NDC in the constituency if they remain united.

Addressing party members on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the Victory Presby Church and Schools, when the party inaugurated its constituency campaign officers, Ms. Manu expressed confidence that the NPP will reclaim the constituency from the NDC considering the energy they exhibited on the day.

“Our being here today is for a very simple exercise to inaugurate the campaign team ahead of the elections. This is the team that will be tasked with the responsibility of devising strategies that will help us win the elections. It is not an easy task, just as the chairman did mention, but it is possible because with the energy we have exhibited here, I know and can see we have already won the elections,” she stated.

While urging her supporters to be tolerant of each other during the campaign, Akosua Manu encouraged all who couldn’t make it on the official campaign list to still spread her good works to help unseat the incumbent Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan.

“I will plead with you to remain tolerant with each other about the process, and if your name is not mentioned, it does not mean that you are not part of the campaign team. Right from the instructions that were given to us by the regional executives straight from the National, it indicates that everyone here has a responsibility to discharge as far as the 2024 elections are concerned. So those standing here to represent the campaign team are standing in your stead to do the work,” she explained.

“Ladies and gentlemen, as a political party, our first objective is to win political power, and we have the people here in this room to ensure it happens,” she added.

The NPP parliamentary candidate emphasised the importance of unity and maturity in the process of victory, urging the collective efforts of all the aspirants who competed in the primaries.

Akosua Manu charged party members in Adentan to stick to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s “it is possible” slogan, calling on them to go to areas within the constituency that have never voted for the NPP.

She also assured her followers that she would secure the necessary resources for the campaign to succeed on time, considering their work at hand.

In the same programme, the Managing Director of the Bulk Oil and Storage Transportation (BOST) Company Limited, Dr. Oscar Provencal, admitted this year’s campaign was going to be quite difficult for the party due to the current economic situation.

He, however, advised party members to remember President Akufo-Addo’s words during the COVID era that the NPP knows how to bring the economy back to life but does not know how to bring dead people back to life, adding that the government is working earnestly to restore the economic fortunes of the Ghanaian people.

The Greater Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, for his part, said the opposition NDC is in panic because the NPP has a more marketable candidate as its flagbearer, observing that Mr. John Dramani Mahama cannot compare himself to Dr. Bawumia in terms of vision and tenacity.

According to him, the former president doesn’t have a clear vision and only runs his campaign on hearsay and the promises of other aspirants.

He said the NPP can win the elections in Adentan and nationally if only party members will exhibit the spirit of humility and explain to voters how better the NPP is when compared to their main opponent, the NDC.

Hon. Titus-Glover advised members of the campaign team to step aside if they believe they cannot fulfil their entrusted responsibilities.

Members of the campaign team were sworn in by the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Divine Otoo Agorhom.
