The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced the confirmation of six new cases of Mpox in the country, bringing the total number of recorded infections to 85.
In a public health alert shared via social media, the GHS urged Ghanaians to be vigilant and report symptoms early to the nearest health facility. The Service emphasized that Mpox spreads through close contact and that early detection and treatment are crucial to limiting its spread.
The key symptoms of Mpox include fever, rash, headache, muscle pain, and swollen lymph nodes.
Health officials are encouraging the public to seek medical attention immediately if any of these symptoms appear and to avoid physical contact with infected individuals.
The Ghana Health Service is continuing to monitor the situation and has assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to manage and contain the spread of the virus.
The public is advised to maintain good hygiene, avoid sharing personal items, and stay informed through official GHS channels
