Following a request by the Ministry of Labour Relations and Employment for the intervention of the National Labour Commission (NLC) over the ongoing strike by pre-tertiary teacher unions, the NLC has invited both parties for a hearing of the case.

The parties had held initial discussions on Monday in an attempt to resolve the issue, but without success.

According to the letter from the NLC on Tuesday, the parties are to appear before the Commission on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, for the hearings on the issues in dispute.

The NLC also appealed to the teachers to suspend their strike while it resolves the deadlock.
