Northern Region: 13 Ladies Arrested For Allegedly Engaging In Prostitution

The Northern Regional Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Police Service, on the 1st of July, 2022, arrested some ladies reported to be engaging in prostitution.

Around 7:00 p.m., the ladies, number thirteen (13) were reportedly hovering around the regional Bank of Ghana office area, popularly known as Nagasaki.

They appeared before the Tamale Circuit Court on July 5, 2022 on a charge of engaging in prostitution.

One of the ladies who pleaded guilty was charged with and fined twenty-five penalty units, the equivalent of GHC 300.

The remaining twelve (12) pleaded not guilty and have agreed to reappear in court on July 20th, 2022.
