24-hour economy: NDC must tell Ghanaians how they’ll manage a 12-hour economy first – Ahiagbah

Is the NDC trying to run the Bank of Ghana now? NPP’s Richard Ahiagbah asks

Communications Director of NPP, Richard Ahiagbah

The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has urged Ghanaians not to be deceived by the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC’s) 24-hour economy.

In an X post on Monday, Mr. Richard Ahiagbah stated that the 24-hour policy of the NDC is the biggest scam because the party has not yet demonstrated it can handle a 12-hour economy.

He asserted that the NDC must first tell Ghanaians how he plans to manage the 12-hour economy before moving on to the 24-hour economy, as they cannot skip class one and move to class two.

“The so-called 24-hour economy being piped by the NDC is quackery. Ghana, let’s not be misled by the fake confidence with which the NDC talks about the 24-hour economy because it is the biggest scam in policy promise on record anywhere.”

“The NDC must tell Ghanaians their plan to manage the 12-hour economy because to talk about the 24-hour economy without first addressing what the NDC will do with the 12-hour economy is equivalent to skipping from class one to class two. That’s not how it’s done!” he argued.

Mr. Ahiagbah said that the 24-hour economy is developed from the 12-hour economy, so the NDC needs to tell Ghanaians how they will first manage the 12-hour economy.

He added that if the NDC makes known their plans on how they will manage the 12-hour economy, there will be no need for them to tell Ghanaians how they will manage the 24-hour economy because Ghanaians will be the judges of their 12-hour economy.

“Answering the 12-hour economy question is fundamental because the 24-hour economy grows on the 12-hour economy. It is like anything in life: you start before you finish. In other words, you cannot start. It is also said that you cannot reap where you have not sown.”

“NDC, tell us your plan for the 12-hour economy. Let Ghana assess your vision for the 12-hour economy, and you would not have to explain the 24-hour economy with the characteristic fake confidence”, the NPP lead spokesperson stressed.
